MORLEY

Bursting onto the street art scene in the past twelve months, Los Angeles' Morley has added an entirely new dimension to contemporary graffiti art. Working around the Hollywood area, Morley has reinvented sloganeering to remind social-climbing capitalists of the important things in life – love, hope and not beating yourself up about stuff too much. "I promise you're not just a waitress" declares one piece to the struggling actresses of La-La Land; "Let's fall in love like our parents aren't divorced" he urges the children of the free-love generation. The figure in the pieces is Morley himself, who includes a portrait to avoid street art's obsession with mystery – if he gets caught by the police, he says sorry and they let him off.
